Michael Schmidt, 34, of Temperance, MI, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014, in the Toledo Hospital. Born December 16, 1979, in Toledo, he was the son of Darrel and Beverly (Nagy) Schmidt. Everyone Michael met became his best friend. Family was the most important to Michael; he was the greatest son, brother, and “Uncle Mike”. He loved watching the Tigers with his dad, riding dirt bikes, hunting, and spending time with his niece.
He was preceded by his grandparents, Christian and Darlene Schmidt, Louis and Dolores “Nana” Nagy and uncle, David Schmidt. Michael is survived by his parents, sister, Kimberly (Aaron), brothers, Darrel Jr. and James, and niece, Seanna. Also surviving is David Gertz, who is like a father to us.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at VFW post#6509, 3977 Sylvania-Petersburg road, Petersburg, MI, Sunday, June 29, at 3 pm. The family would like to thank all the staff who cared for Mike at Toledo Hospital, and friends and family for their support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
